Today was our last day down east. We had not been successful at finding and photographing the black bear. We decided to go back to Pungo Lake and drive around and hope we would see a bear close enough to be able to get some good photos.

We drove around looking but found our swan again, plenty of rabbits, and even heard we had missed seeing a family of otter playing in the canal, We saw partridges who scattered back into the grass as we approached. I am determined to get their pictures next time. Still no bear except way in the distance. So we decided to start back. I will say I did say a prayer that God would let us see a bear. He followed through and Jake saw a bear in the field to the left. He was actually coming our way. Tammy stopped the car and we both jumped out as he made his way toward us. Believe me when I say he had an agenda and was in no way interested in us. We weren’t scared.
